From Successful Catering to Sought-after Conferencing Centres    Monument Function Centre is well-known for the lovely conference centres, which the company operates in Pretoria and at Hartbeespoort Dam, yet few of our guests are aware that we began our business as caterers in the highly competitive catering field. It’s thanks to our resounding success as Corne’s Caterers that we’ve been able to expand our operations into the wider restaurant, hospitality, events and conference industries.

Our company, Monument Function Centre, is based in the beautiful Jacaranda City, Pretoria – the location of most of our conference and events venues, where our catering expertise continues to stand us in good stead, much to the delight of all our diverse clients’ palates.

Out of Town, but Not Too Far – Villa Paradiso

One of our largest establishments is situated a little further from the city centre, in Hartbeespoort, right at the edge of the famous dam of the same name, nestled at the foot of the picturesque Magaliesberg range.

This 4-star country manor hotel, conference and events centre, is also multifunctional, with the added advantage of featuring 60 double sized, air conditioned accommodation units and a pretty wedding chapel, on site.

Rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, plus television sets with selected satellite DStv channels. Most units have a balcony, offering spectacular views of the mountains or the vast expanse of the Hartbeespoort Dam. Doors lead out onto beautifully landscaped English gardens.

At Villa Paradiso, four conference rooms seat up to 120 persons and there are several breakaway rooms plus a boardroom. Packages include most equipment and aids as standard, while optional extras are also available on request.   Meals at Villa Paradiso are a delight. The peaceful tranquillity here ensures that delegates are able to focus on their core business in comfort and without disturbances normally encountered in busy centres.

Back in Pretoria, at Amphi Hall

Amphi Hall derives its name from the amphitheatre built on the slopes just below the world renowned Voortrekker Monument. It’s a massive venue, able to accommodate up to 2 000 conference delegates and more than enough secure parking space.

In addition to our standard facilities, two private, executive meeting rooms are available, complete with workstations and private bathroom facilities. Standard conference equipment includes the latest AV aids, internet and printing equipment. Manschappen

Manschappen is a dedicated conference venue, consisting of 6 rooms, plus boardroom and seating up to 45 delegates in a boardroom configuration. Manschappen’s location is fascinating – the historical Fort Schanskop Museum.

De Kroon Kamer

De Kroon Kamer, near Fort Schanskop Museum, also features several meeting rooms. Its location provides incredible views over the city of Pretoria, particularly at night.


If you want a conference with a difference, without having to travel far out of the city to find it, Blikkantien may just be the perfect venue for you and your delegates. This quaint venue with its old world ambience, grace and dignity of yesteryear and distinctive décor, hugs the foot of the hillside near the Voortrekker Monument – another perfect setting.

We have capacity for up to 200 attendees and as always, at all our establishments, meals are delicious, snacks are scrumptious and personal service is impeccable. You and your guests deserve the best and nothing less is good enough to meet our own exacting standards.
